The political term grew out of the American revolution and our founding documents. “Liberal” fundamentally means the belief that the people should be free and that the government belongs to the people. Hello! So who is opposed to that? Fascists, Nazis, and dictators!

I would doubt that the orange menace knows what a Marxist is or what they believe. He heard the word somewhere and thought it sounded like a bad thing so why not hurl the word at one of his enemies, even if he has no clue about what it means? He is, as Lawrence O’Donnell says, the stupidest man who ever lived.

I have noticed that djt spouts off a lot of words that are meant as epithets but I don’t think he understands the difference between any of those ideologies or that they are often contradictory.
